Family Photoshoot

Hey Bloggers,

So a few weeks ago I had a family photoshoot and the photo's are literally so amazing I just had to share them on my blog as I am over the moon!

When Corey was 9 months old, at the time I was recently a single mother - so I got a shoot of just us two, to symbalise our bond etc. Here are some of those pictures:

(Corey was a poser which the pictures certainly show (Also I was only a size 14, take me back to those days!!)

I didn't think I would meet anyone else, but I ended up meeting someone not long after Corey's 1st Birthday, he is not only the love of my life but my best friend and hopefully soon to be hubby - now nearing to our 22 months, and celebrating our first house together etc. A great time for a photoshoot to put up over the fireplace etc. As we don't have many pictures of us all together as neither of the boys like having their pictures taken but they came out amazing!
Here are some of my best pics:

Corey & I - fav pic!

Lovee the squashing pic of my boys, such a fun moment - another fav pic!

Some of all of us!

I haven't put many of myself on here as quite frankly I am a bit embarrased on how big I am and these pictures reflect that.

However, I am so pleased with the outcome of all the pictures. I hope you enjoy :)

Week 1 - Fav Winter Nails - Link Here

Week 2 - Winter Accessories - Link Here

Week 3 - Winter Scents

Fav Winter Scents

Here is some of my all time favourite perfumes, I absolutely LOVE fruity light scents:

JLo Live - Boots £15.99 for 100ml

So this one has been my number 1 perfume ever since I was around 13/14 (now 20) and I am very gutted to say that once these are sold, that is it they are being discontinued :( I can not even begin to explain how upset I am at this, so you best go try it before it goes as it is deffo one for keeps. It smells so fruitilious and just amazing, no faults what so ever!

Next is..

Versace Jeans (Red for girls, Blue for boys) - Boots £14.99

Originally, last year we brought these for my boyfriends best friends, who are a couple. Very sweet to be matching - absolutely love this idea as I am a hopeless romantic! We liked the smell of them soo much, I got some for us. Now I am on my 3rd this year. Again it is fruity, but also my new fav!

Last but not least..

Vera Wang Love Struck - Boots £19.99 for 30ml

Just to repeat myself, if you hadn't realised by now, again this is another fruity perfume. You can tell my obsession by now surely :) and you are probably wondering why fruity smells are for winter, well because that little glimpse of fruitness is all we have over winter to remind us of summer. Deffo go try these if you want to smell gorgeous :)

Leave me your links to your #TheWinterProject !

Christmas Galore!!

Evening beauties,

Yesterday (Saturday) Corey, nanny and myself went to Milton Keynes shopping centre, to see their Christmas display they have every year. The theme was 'Snow White in The Land of Enchanted Dreams' and ohh it was so magical :) We didn't get to see Santa has he was too busy in the morning, but they had a train that went round the display, and here are some snaps of that:

Corey found it truly amazing, with his little giggle the whole way round!!

Now, today we have officially taken Lazy Sunday to an extreme in this house as my little man slept in until 1.30 this afternoon without a peak all morning. This was only because I woke him up then, he would have slept for much longer - unsure why the sudden laziness. I on the other hand have been wide awake since around 7, as every morning I have to nudge and poke to boyfriend for endless amount of hours to get him up for work, and no surprise he was late yet again. Sooo bloody beyond annoying, I have to get up early to wake him up on my only chance to have the slightest lay in all week - well not a happy bunny today. I did however stay in bed all morning until Corey awakened as did not dare get up encase he hears me. There goes my morning of housework I had planned for today - thank god! :)

So after my sleepy little child woke up we relaxed on the sofa, and watched Cartoonito Channel which shows all of his favourite shows such as Fireman Sam, Baby Looney Tunes, Peppa pig, Banana's in Pyjama's etc.

At 5pm, the other half has come home from work - being lazy buggers we has left over Indian take away from last night :)

Now to the very exciting bit, Christmas is coming to my household!!!! I finally decided to just do it, and put my Christmas decorations up as I couldn't wait any longer. Last year it was our first Christmas together as a couple, so we decided to go all out and buy an amazing big Christmas tree with beautiful decorations - at my old flat this was so only had room for a tree. This year I am very excited to be putting this exact Christmas Tree up in our new house :)

Over the next few weeks, I shall be adding to my living room decorations because as mentioned last year I only had room for a Tree, I want lights, tinsel, Reindeer's and Santa by the fireplace etc!

Here is pictures of us building the tree, and the mess it caused:

The best part of all, my Corey putting the Star on the top of the Christmas Tree for the first year ever, a new tradition:

Now here is the final masterpiece - (in light and darkness) :)

My christmassy fireplace etc:

Finally, my favourite teddies.. I got these last year for a bargain at Tesco, Santa & the Elf are my favourite. If I was a kid, they would go everywhere with me - Luckily, I am not quite that sad at 20!

So let me know what you think, and when are you putting up your decorations?? Come join me on the early band wagon & hope to see lots of Christmassy posts up very soon!

#TheWinterProject - Week 1

Hellooo Bloggers,

This is the start of #TheWinterProject created by the wonderful Kellie Saunders who has a post all about this project on this link here.

They will be up every week on Tuesday's, posts going live at 6pm - so don't forget to come back regularly to check my posts please :)

Week 1 - Favourite Winter Nails

So let's start off with what I have in the picture..

OPI Big Apple Red
OPI Miami Beet
OPI Lourve Me Lourve Me Not
Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Boudoir Rose
L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Addictive Plum

Well I know that the Sally Hansen isn't a Winter colour, however, I just had to throw it in as it really does work miracles. You apply every other day and you certainly start to notice a difference by next morning - I certainly did. I have the tendancy to bite my nails, but I like my nails nice and long for certain events, so this is a great way to do this quick!

My other favourites are the L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Addictive Plum and OPI Lourve Me Lourve Me Not - both some of my daily favs at the moment, both absolutely beautiful winter dark plum colours. Suitable for any outfit and just so in love with them :)

Also, I am not usually a fan of light nudey/pink colours however the L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Boudoir Rose is a stunning natural colour, perfect for the work day - as I am not really allowed to wear bright nail varnish. Creates the perfect professional look.

Left - Boudoir Rose
Right - Lourve Me Lourve Me Not

That is it for now, for this week, come back next Tuesday for Favourite Winter Accessory.

Boots Haul

Morning Bloggers,

So as per usual I have been spending money once again. It was my first day off as Annual Leave from work, I was feeling a bit low and ending up going crazy - £174 worth of crazy in Boots! Frankly, I am still in shock with myself.. Still a whole week left of Annual Leave, can't do anymore shopping, I will, I know I will!

Here is what I brought..

Joop Homme for Men
Hugo Boss Red for Men
Children In Need Fearne Teddy
Vera Wang Lovestruck Perfume
Versace Red Jeans for Ladies

L'Oreal Paris Eyebrow Pencil
L'Oreal Paris False Lash Flutter Mascara
Benefit They're Real Mascara
L'Oreal Color Riche Nail Varnish
Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butter in Candy Apple

The eyebrow pencil and L'Oreal Paris False Lash Flutter Mascara in action..

Excuse the creepy picture of the eye, however, I am very impressed with how the eyebrow pencil came out with a natural look. Never used one before, but I do need that top up whilst I wait to have my eyebrows dyed. With the Mascara, I am very particular with having separated eyelashes, I hate lumps and gaps etc - girls it is yuk! This one deffiently is a new favourite for me, nice easy application for good colour and separation.

I also got a few bits that are not shown, such as my every day make-up and a few goodies for my give-away winner :) I was hoping to have a No7 make-up foundation test done but all the counter ladies were too busy doing there own make-up, I stood for about 5 minutes waiting without any acknowledge me, was ridiculous! Gave up in the end, maybe another day..

I did enjoy my outing and even though it broke my bank balance, it improved my mood a lot :)

ASOS Insider - #AccessAllASOS xo

Hellooo,

So this is a little about how I became an ASOS Insider - greatest thing that has happened to me since Blogging!

So, to start off with I was a little confused on what this was, but this video (Link Here) was super helpful! If you can not watch this, for a bit of a gist of what it is about, you get:

1. Inside details before others
2. Exclusive invitations
3. Goodies
4. To be a part of such a fab new community of people

I went in not really knowing much, not really having a chance besides a little bit of hope. Then I saw that some people had received emails stating they had got through, for some reason, I decided to check my emails to see, I knew I had no chance as lets face it, I never win anything. But guess what? I GOT IN! Then later on that afternoon, luckily I had day off so was in to get the post - I got a package welcoming to become an Insider!

I got a little harmonica, which they thought would be good for little man - well oh boy, it is the most annoying thing ever now. But they kindly put a face mask for when I got stressed from the noise haha, which I am yet to try.

Every so often, I will get emails that are introducing new invitations, which I then need to log into, select my interest and then wait to see if I am one of the lucky chosen few. I have been lucky, in fact, very lucky! I recieved a spooky secret suprise for #todayisscaryselfies which they sent a halloween mask over for me, which both myself and son enjoyed, as well as today I recieved in the post a signed copy of Alexa Chung's book 'IT'

Me in Cat Mask

Corey in Cat Mask, he insisted!

Alexa Chung book

I can't wait to see what other invitations they have in the future, exciting stuff, can hardly control myself. To best honest, I am not into blogging for the goodies, but receiving little gifts in the post recently has been super amazing for me. If the boyfriend won't do it, then who will? #AccessAllASOS do :)

Baby Sleeping Regime xo

Hiyaa Bloggers,

We all have the troubles of babies sleeping now don't we?

Fortunately, I was lucky enough to have a well behaved sleeping child! He was in hospital for the first month of his life due to being premature, by this time he was in a good routine, feeding every 4 hours. By the time I got to take my little precious home, we were feeding him every 4 hours regardless of him being asleep or not. Thankfully, within a couple of weeks we gave up, as we were dream feeding - which I do not believe in this. So by 2 and a half months, he was sleeping through the night from 8-6 ish, then I would put him into my bed and he would sleep until 9ish. After 2 more weeks, he was fast asleep in a cot in his bed for around 12 hours a night. Almost 3 years later, I have no night time disturbances ever, peace and bliss - a good thing for me, as I am super grumpy without sleep due to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (basically means I have a slight excuse to be a lazy sleepy cow haha!)

As so many of mummies and daddies will be pulling their hairs out whilst screaming babies at 2 am! I dread having another child, as I will not be as lucky the second time round so I decided it would be a good idea, to have some experiences from fellow #mummybloggers and #pbloggers to share their ways of overcoming the stressful sleeping regimes of a baby;

Emma from Emma & Alfie

Alfie's always been a brilliant sleeper, I think it helps that he's so chilled out. He started sleeping through from 3weeks or so, for the first four months Alfie used to go to bed at 11 and wake up about7 but that was fine with me I still felt refreshed in the morning. He goes to bed more at around 9 now and will wake up at about8 and he has2 naps in the day which are about an hour.

Alfie is very good at self soothing and if I put him in his cot he manages to fall asleep within 10mins, he does like to have his soother while falling asleep though.

I do try and create a relaxing environment for when Alfie is settling down before bed, we dim the lights, have the candles flickering and the tele on low. He soon falls asleep and it makes me sleepy too!

I know I'm very lucky to have a good sleeper because a lot of my friends babies still wake lots in the night and they're older than Alfie.

Emma from LivePeachy

When the lovely Gemma asked me if I would write about how I deal with my baby’s sleeping patterns – it really got me thinking, how do I cope?

I didn’t really start thinking about a sleep routine until Daisy hit three months. Like most babies she was wilful and unpredictable and I was lucky to get a solid six hours sleep from 12-6am pretty quickly, most nights! She was alert, responsive and loved napping in her pram; it was really me that started to want to introduce a night routine for her. And, although it was tough, it made the world of difference.

At 7 and half months, Daisy is now sleeping almost 12 hours, unless she is ravaged by those damn teeth. We started with nightly baths and a bedtime story plus the wonderful Lullabies app, which was a Godsend. What started as a trial period, has become familiar and fun way to wind down and send Miss D off to the land of nod! For us, the decision to put Daisy in her own room was also a great help. We moved her to her own nursery at 4 and half months and this instantly meant less disturbance from us AND a little more freedom in the evenings to catch up on things we needed to do.

I think one of the most important lessons I’ve learnt, through this whole process, is to listen to your instinct. For me, military precision doesn’t work, but honing your intuition as a mother and working with your baby’s needs has done wonders. I am constantly surprised at how naturally Daisy falls into new routines and learns new things – sleep has been no different. I can confidently read her tired signals and I think she is familiar enough with her bedtime routine, to know that it’s time to calm down for the night. The more active she has become, the more rest she needs and we are FINALLY working towards a decent afternoon nap, one that doesn’t involve her sprawled out on the sofa!

Liz from EverythingIsRosy

My son has always been a tummy sleeper, much to the disapproval of his doctor and health visitors who lectured me against it! Recent studies and evidence did make us nervous about allowing him to sleep on his tummy but when push came to shove, circumstance decided for us. He had a traumatic birth which left him with bad head and neck pain and the only way he was comfortable enough to sleep was on his tummy. This position seemed to really help his wind too as rather than wriggling around struggling with windy pains, when he was on his tummy he’d just lift his tiny bottom in the air and let out a (not so) tiny fart!

At 6 weeks he was getting too big for his Moses basket - the whole thing moved whenever he had a little fidget - so we decided to move him into his big cot in his own room. We had a video monitor and I think the first night, I spent most of the time awake staring at the screen watching him!

He slept through the night from about 12 weeks and from then on mostly he’s slept really well. If he doesn’t sleep well, we know he’s about to get new teeth! Those nights are really bad and he’ll normally end up in our bed, so none of us get much sleep! But we do get little fists and feet in our faces which is just as nice..!

He did have a stage at about 10 months when he would be a little pickle when we put him to bed, so we devised our own technique (much like a timed comforting method) and after a few nights it worked a treat. Now we have a bedtime routine which involves snuggles on Mummy and Daddy’s bed and a bit of The One Show on TV (tends to make him sleepy!!) then he goes down in his cot awake, cuddling Eeyore and slowly drifts off to sleep.

He used to, no matter how hard we tried, wake up at 5am every morning for his milk! But magically over night when he turned 1, he started sleeping until 6.30-7 ish all on his own! Now during the week he wakes then, has his milk and we start the day. BUT at the weekend, he wakes and has his milk like normal then snuggles back into our bed for another snooze! Bliss.x

Lucinda from teacher2mummy

I guess we have been quite lucky with our little man sleeping through the night. Of course in those first few weeks it was a different story, up at random times for feeding and changing etc. I can’t believe how often I would get up! I kept a diary of feeds, changes and sleeps and was surprised when I looked back at it, as I don’t seem to remember those relentless nights. It was expected but I certainly didn’t realise how tough it would be.

The other half was keen to get Eliot in to a night routine fairly quickly but we were very much ‘baby led’ as advised. One of my friends recommended trying to do the same thing each evening to help establish a routine. So each evening we would bath Eliot and get him ready for bed, he would have his bottle and we would put him in his crib. In the early days I played relaxation music that I listened to when I was pregnant and this seemed to help him go to sleep.

It was around eight or nine weeks when he started to sleep through the night from around 9-10pm until 7-8am. He still does now (fingers crossed) but there is the odd night he will wake and need a little milk to help him go back to sleep, these seem to be more recently. Sometimes he will doze off whilst having his bottle, other times you can put him in his crib and he will go to sleep by himself or he will cry and want you to be there whilst he falls asleep. I’m very eager to get him used to being put in his crib to fall asleep by himself all the time.

I think starting the evening bath (which he loves) just before his last feed really helped us fall into a routine naturally.

During the day Eliot usually cat naps between ten and twenty minutes. He normally gets tired and cranky about two hours after a feed but tries to fight the tiredness. If we go on a car journey he does tend to sleep for longer. I didn’t think this affected his night routine until the other day when he wouldn’t go to sleep until after 11pm.

That's it for now!

As you can see this is my little angel on his first night in his cot all those years ago

So as you can see very varied sleep routines, the main thing is carefully think of a plan of attack (figurally speaking of course) and stick with it, concistency is the key to parenting. I personally went with the 'crying' sleeping method that I saw on Super Nanny TV - at first I thought it was cruel, but as you can tell very affective. I would never let him cry for more than 5 minutes at a time, to start off with sometimes it is hard, every 5 minutes of crying you are supposed to go in, calm them without holding, and then as soon as calm, leave the room then start the 5 minutes again. As long as you are consistant.

I am not someone to mess around with stuff like this, I have friends who have 5 years old still up every 2/3 hours, cuddles in their bed etc and waking up at 6am? I am selfish yes, my son sleeps until 8am, earliest at a stretch possible 7am on very very rare occasions! I feel very sorry for those whose children wake up so early, we need sleep just as much as they do!

Hope this is some sort of a helpful insightful post to fellow mummies and daddies :)

Please be sure to leave your stories in the comment box as I would really love to know others too!

See you again soooon!

Love, Yummy Mummy xo
