Corey's 5th Birthday :)

Helloo,

A post all about a 5th birthday :)

Saturday 19th marked the day, a massive 5 year mark of the best day of my life. 5 years ago Corey was born. 5 years ago I had been in hospital for a few days in a fair amount of pain worrying to death at the thought of my baby possibly being 6 weeks premature. After already having treatment to try control my blood pressure and steroids to help Corey's main organs grow a little faster.

But later that day I had family visiting. I started to feel ill, I started to feel my throat swelling. A silly nurse told me it was nothing to worry about without really checking. So I waited, but I couldn't for long as it just got worse. Finally someone came and checked both me and Corey, it was then decided that I had to be prepped for an emergency c-section. The one thing my little green book said I didn't want. At this point it was all a bit of a blur. I remember ringing my mum so she could rush down and she got there as I was going down the lift. Perfect timing!

I was asleep by 6.30pm as surgery started, Corey was born at 6.45pm and I didn't wake up until roughly 7.15pm. As I came out of surgery of course an absolute mess. Corey had been taken to antenatal ward to be checked over, I got shown a picture - that was it. I actually didn't see Corey as I got wheeled in on my bed at around 1 am on my own and couldn't even hold him. It was until I managed to get up around lunch time the next day that I got to hold his hand and actually have a cuddle. The most magical moment. The moment that changed my life and gave me a whole new meaning of love and happiness.

So the years have gone by, through lots of good and some bad (you know the usual little tantrums). Or even the part where I almost lost him at 6 weeks old. But we have grown together and together we are a team of not only mother and son but best friends. A bond that grows stronger day by day. Watching my little munchkin moo over the years, watching him grow into the proper little cheeky lad that he is becoming, seeing him exceeding in school with his reading and writing. I couldn't be prouder!

With Christmas being so close to his birthday, sometimes I see it as a bad thing but then I remember it is my favourite time of year, always has been and now for two reasons. It makes the best week ever :)

I actually wrote this before his birthday but never got round to posting it so I am going to also share what we got up too over his long birthday weekend :)

Friday was his last day at school before Christmas and pretty much the only time all weekend we had just the two of us so I took him out to dinner at Frankie & Benny's just for some us time :) I ordered a yummy pizza and Corey had a kids spaghetti bolegense, except the cheeky monkey decided he wanted my pizza instead so yes we swapped and yes he ate almost most of the adults pizza!!

Saturday, the actual birthday day we started the day off early at mums for breakfast, opened some presents from his uncle before heading out to Wacky Warehouse for his birthday party with some friends from school. It was great fun and love seeing all his friends playing so nice together :) In the afternoon Corey then went to his dads until bed time.

Sunday, the best day in my opinion. We headed over to Milton Keynes Theatre to watch Aladdin pantomime. It had stars such as Priscilla Presley and Ben Adams from A1 band (just wow!). It is our yearly tradition to go and it was better than I expected and extremely funny. I cried with laughter!!

Then after that we headed to my nans for a family party and after waiting all weekend Corey finally got to open his presents from all of us. We really do love family time and no matter way then celebrating his birthday!

So there we have it, one extremely long exhausting weekend but one of the best birthday's so far. Now onto Christmas :):)

22nd Birthday - What I Got!

Helloo,

I thought I would share with you what I got for my 22nd birthday which now was very almost a month ago - whoops! Blogging has taken a bit of a back seat due to the summer holidays and my wifi not working but finally back to normality. I had a great birthday, just a relaxed day and yummy meal with the family before heading out with the girls into town. I suffered from my first ever hangover, it was not nice. But the night was worth it! Then a long drive to Wales on the Monday to get away for a few days which was just absolutely lush - read about that here :) I've included some bits that were picked up there too as just had to share the cuteness of some of it!

BIRTHDAY

I forgot two of my main presents, a new camera and a gorgeous Fiorelli handbag :) I am sure they will make an appearance on the blog soon! Plus I received money to do my own bits of shopping :)

This 'Peachy Keen' scent is incredible! I'm obsessed with bath and shower things, I just love the smells.

WALES

These are some bits that Corey picked up with his money, of course all Avenger theme and he also got a few bits of clothes and a Captain America costume complete with shield!! :) Found a new love for ASDA clothing!

Below are the most comfiest and cutest pyjamas ever, from Primark!

So there you have it - some of the bits I got for my birthday and picked up in Wales :) Is there anything here that caught your eye that you like the look of? Or what is at the top of your wishlist?

WishList - Birthday Edition

Helloo,

So soon (ish) in July it will be my 22nd birthday. I've been wanting to do another wishlist for a while as so many things I want and thought would give some hints to those buying presents (family hint hint!)

JohnGreed - £35
Well just how could you not love and want this?! It is an official Pandora charm but I the personilation is by JohnGreed.

John Greed - £70
I have a charm similar to this. Same shape with a family going round it with gold hearts. This charm has infinity symbol going round and I love that symbol. I want it to go with my other one so have a lovely pair :)

DVLA - £399
I know this seems like a really weird present but for a while now I have wanted this one. I came across it as I was bored once and just browsing for some random reason. I *hopefully* will have passed my test soon and have a car ready and waiting for me. They are C for Corey, 19 for his birthday and GLC is my initials but also Corey's backwards!!

MAC Cosmetics
MAC/Debenhams Voucher - £30
I've gone with choosing a voucher because I want so much but of course I am fussy. A voucher is versatile, I could buy a lipstick, lipliner, foundation, eyeshadows etc!!

Next Home - Rustic Numerical Wall Clock
Next - £40
It is sooo pretty. I don't have a clock in my bedroom and have a wall to fill. A clock like this would be the perfect addition!!

New Look - £19.99
Looks like such a beautiful dress, great geo print too. Looks like it could be really flattering on my body shape and size. Could be dressed up or down for all occasions such as nights out, date night or just a picnic in the park.

River Island - £10
I need some new sunglasses in general especially for when I can drive as the sun ends up blinding me but of course the sun is always a good thing!! They are black and leopard print inside - am I the only one that is still loving leopard prints?!

River Island - £25
I've had my eye on this bag for a while, I think it would be perfect for special occasions and a summer wedding I have coming up in August :)

Disney Store - £12.95
I loveee Rapunzel and Disney. She is by far my favourite princess and love the movie so much. I already have the big wedding version doll but this little toddler version is so cute and would go nicely next to my Boo from Monsters Inc (my other favourite!).

Next Home - Positivity Picture & Frame
Next - £30
At the moment I am all about positivity at the moment, I never realised how much it could really help. But waking up to this every day would be a great way to start the day :)

There you have it - my wishlist. Check out some of my previous wishlists this year for some more inspiration of gifts for any occasion :) Click here and here to view. What is at the top of your wishlist at the moment?!

Top 15 Posts Of 2014

Helloo,

I had seen of few of these 'Top 15 Posts Of 2014' around and I have enjoyed reading them so thought I would do one too. It's great to look back over the year to see what was written and see what was accomplished :) Somehow in 2014, I managed to write 181 posts altogether. I don't know how but in no particular order..

1. Pregnancy, Premature Birth & Beyond..

So this one was really really long, I still cry if I sit there and read it. This was written over 3 years after Corey was born, but still remember it as if it were yesterday. Literally went into detail of the pregnancy, birth, hospital stays, coming home and even a death scare. As you can imagine, pretty intense stuff!

2. Life Of A Premature Baby..

Well the last one leads onto this, I did talk about Corey being premature in the above but not a great deal. I decided to go into a lot more detail and show what it is really like to have a premature baby.

3. Pregnancy Losses & False Hope..

Oh such a sensitive topic for a lot of people, nothing is worse than a loss. If you know me well, you will know I am one broody mumma, false hope was an awful feeling. But my time will come when the time is right.

4. Annoying Question/Phrases Children Say..

This is a bit of a funny post, that I had a lot of fun writing. The picture explains it all really!!! If you have or work with children then you will just understand!

5. Butlins Skegness Holiday..

I love nothing more than reading about Holiday's, although it may contain my now ex - awkward. But it was a good holiday and I just love Butlins. I can't wait to write about more Holiday's in the future. Including Corey's first holiday abroad in a couple of months :) Excited is an understatement!!!!

6. Brit Mums Live..

It was my first blogging event, where I made some amazing friends and learnt some blogging bits. It was a great 2 day event and I can not wait to go again this year if I can :) I wonder if this beautiful outside area will still be there?!

7. Naming Day/Christening Ideas..

I didn't have a traditional Christening, I had a Naming Day - a little out of the ordinary but is now very common for those non religious like myself. It was such a great day and I shared some ideas and a bit about the day.

8. LegoLand

Honestly, one of the most amazing day trips out I have ever had with Corey. I didn't even feel very well and it was so beyond hot but really was so magical. You can see by the pictures on just how beautiful it was. Next time I'm staying in the Lego Hotel too!

9. Ideal Home Show, Earls Court..

I have always loved things like this and I am a massive fan of all things homeware. I was pretty much in heaven, that actually cost of fortune if I wanted to buy anything. I certainly would go again!

10. Massive Beauty Haul..

I may have gone a little crazy with the make-up buying on my 21st. Like insane amounts were spent - worth every penny though :) **Warning - Picture Heavy Post**

11. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

I think I have found my holy-grail foundation, everything in the review explains why but if you know your make-up then I am sure you already know about this one!

12. Photoshoot

I think it is great to have good quality photos that can be treasured. I've had 3 with Corey since he was a baby, and they all mean so much to me! This one, his personality really shined through which was lovely!

13. Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot (Blush Palette) Review

It is the ultimate blush heaven, for the first time ever Benefit brought out a gift set containing 6 of their iconic blushes. It's so pretty and although you expect it to cost a fortune, it actually didn't!

14. Corey's 4th Birthday..

Just a few days before Christmas, is Corey's birthday. I got some lovely snaps of the day and it was very much a TMNT present theme and look at that chocolate foundation - yummy!

15. Christmas..

No need to even explain my love for Christmas, favourite time of year!

This was meant to start out as Top 10 but I got carried away a little bit - whoopsie :) so 15 it is - be sure to check some of them out if they take your fancy! What was your favourite post of the year to write?

Corey's 4th Birthday :)

Helloo,

So as you can probably guess Friday 19th December was Corey's 4th Birthday :)

Now I could probably ramble on for ages on how fast time is going. I can't actually quite come to terms with fact that I am now a mummy to a 4 year old. I'm so proud of my little munchkin, he is my best friend. Over the last few months, he has really grown into a proper little lad with his cheeky personality shining through.

On Thursday he had his last day of pre-school ready for him to go onto a 4+ class at Primary School. It was emotional, cuddling all his friends goodbye. He has been at his nursery for over 3 years so all the staff love him. But he got breakfast with Santa and had a birthday party with yummy cake. Even joined in in the nativity as a cute little sheep. Here Corey is trying on his big boy uniform for January:

Now as for his birthday, we spent the day at my mums with close family, having a yummy meal and opening presents. Here are some pictures of the day:

And now for the presents..

It was very much a Ninja Turtle themed birthday as you can see (he has marvel theme for Christmas). He loves it all, can't wait for him to play around. The two best toys I think though were a Ninja Turtle Race Track & an amazing remote control flippy flashing car (above) from Hamley's from my Uncle. Literally you HAVE to check it out by clicking here. Its too amazing not too! It moves whilst on the side like that too.

In the evening of his birthday he went off to his dad's for a second party of the day - lucky boy!

Then yesterday we headed to Milton Keynes Theatre. As a child I used to go every year to their Christmas pantomime and would watch a funny actor Bradley Walsh. After 7 years he was back and Corey being a good age to sit through, I just had to go. Can you guess what we went to see:

Yes, thats right - Peter Pan!!

Bradley Walsh was hilarious as always. But the also had a dance group called Flawless, who were on Britain's Got Talent a few years ago, they were amazing pirates - very hot! It was such a good pantomime, I would certainly go see it again. Corey absolutely loved it and it was so sweet to watch him be happy dancing and singing along! Here he was waiting to go in with a lighty up thing:

With Corey's birthday so close to Christmas I have never really bothered with a party with friends. Maybe next year as he will have his reception class. But the cost, is it worth it? What is your thoughts on this? :)

Love, Gemma xo
