So you may have seen my last post which felt like forever ago now but I have been super busy and that is because it has been my birthday :) I won't lie, I have been overly excited and made the most of it whilst I can still enjoy before getting too old. Only 21 once right?
The night before my birthday, whilst I was fast asleep my other half popped to Tesco and got some decorations ready for when I woke up. It was really sweet and I was so pleased :) Going down the stairs, Corey in front of me and he goes 'mummy, its a party for your birthday' - what a sweetie!
On the day itself we had a family BBQ at my mums with cake and presents. We ended up doing the BBQ in the oven because it was far too hot to be standing in front of the heat of the BBQ. Originally she had ordered a personalised cake from Marks & Spencers, who unfortunately screwed up (not just mine, many others too!) and ended up with a refund and FOUR cakes off the shelf. Corey and I chose which was our favourite to light the candles and ended up which was this Enchanted Fairy cake, it tasted so yummy!! Corey helped with blowing out of the candles of course.
Here is Corey having some fun in the garden, it was so blooming hot that day and Corey was sweating buckets as you can tell by his hair!
I remember Corey crying on the way home from my mums that evening as he didn't want my party to be over so we are keeping all the balloons up until we say the party is over! How long do you reckon I can keep them up before my other half gets annoyed?!
A couple of days before my birthday, we went for my birthday day trip out which was Whipsnade Zoo, not far from where I live and it was an absolutely wonderful day with my mum, nan and Corey. The train was the most beloved bit of it.
I love these photos of Corey taking pictures with the camera and then seeing what he had taken. It was so sweet - a little pro in the making :) We were really lucky too as all the animals came out close to see, the giraffes seemed the be Corey's favourite.
On Saturday, in my local town there is this thing called River Festival, a massive event that happens every other year full of rides, music and stalls. The girls and I decided we would take a picnic blanket and set up and make cocktails right into the night to watch the fireworks. You may have seen on Twitter that the night didn't end so great though - the girls can't handle their drink which is ironic as I can when I drink like 5 times a year rather than every weekend like they do! But non the less I got some beautiful firework pictures:
Would like to say a massive thankyou for all the birthday tweets, instagrams, facebooks etc on the day last Friday - it made my day! As I write this I am watching Mulan with the boys whilst we recover from a very busy last few days :) I have a few posts lined up to share what I got up too, presents, hauls and more so keep an eye out for these too :) What did you or do you plan to get up to for your 21st? :)
Love, Gemma xo
